The Grounds
We collaborated with The Grounds Coffee in Portarlington to create a new line of branded apparel including t-shirts, hats, and hoodies. Building on their already strong brand identity, we worked through discovery sessions to understand the energy, vision, and future direction of the business. From there, we developed a series of fresh graphics that took the brand into a completely new space without losing its core character.
The result is apparel that feels vibrant, authentic, and unmistakably The Grounds. What started as a design project has grown into a movement in the town. You can’t walk through Portarlington without spotting someone wearing a Grounds hoodie, hat, or tee. It’s branding brought to life in the everyday.

Finding the mark that hits the spot.
Working closely with Jin, we explored a wide range of visual directions for The Grounds. It was an open, collaborative process — testing ideas, sketching marks, and refining until the right one revealed itself. The goal wasn’t just to make something that looked good, but to find the design that felt right. A mark that carried the energy of The Grounds and represented the brand with clarity and character. In the end, we landed on the symbol that truly hits the spot.
